The words to the song “What Child is This?” have always been among my favorite Christmas Hymns.
This, this is Christ the King
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing
Haste, hast to bring him laud
The babe, the son of Mary
The incongruity of the King of Kings lying in a stable, guarded by shepherds and surrounded by a choir of angles with the invitation for us all to recognize this baby and offer glory and praise expresses all that we know and celebrate at Christmas.
May we pause to recognize our savior, the child on Mary’s lap this Christmas and always.
As those around the world pause to celebrate Christ’s birth we are united once again in the meaning of our faith.
We hope you will continue to keep Mission Doctors and the patients they care for in your prayers this Christmas and always.
