Understanding Multi-Factor Authentication for Your Donations

What’s New?

We’ve enhanced our donation security by adding Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to protect your personal and payment information. This extra layer of security helps verify your identity when making credit card donations.

How It Works

  1. Fill out the donation or ticket form as usual, including your email address
  2. Click “Submit Payment”
  3. Check your email for a 6-digit verification code from noreply@givesmart.com
  4. Enter the code on the donation page
  5. Click “Enter” to complete your donation

Alternative Payment Options

If you prefer not to use email verification, you can use:

  • PayPal
  • Venmo
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay

These payment methods have their own built-in security features and don’t require additional verification.

Troubleshooting Tips

Haven’t received your verification code?

  • Check your spam/junk folder for an email from mailto:noreply@givesmart.com
  • Use the “Resend Code” link at the bottom of the verification window if your code has expired

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are you adding this security measure? This additional step protects both you and our organization by preventing unauthorized credit card use and ensuring your personal information remains secure.

Do I need to verify my identity when using PayPal or other digital wallets? No. Digital wallet payments (PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, and Google Pay) have their own security features and don’t require this additional step.

Will I be able to verify by text message instead of email? Email verification is currently the only option available. We plan to add text message verification in the future.
