Since 1959, Mission Doctors Association has trained, sent, and supported Catholic doctors and their families who come from across the United States to serve people of all faiths in some of the most under-served areas of the world. This mission of healing provides direct patient care and training for local professionals striving toward the goal of sustainable health care.

Create a team or join an existing team.Â
1.    Personalize your fundraising page. Tell everyone why the cause and organization are important to you.
2.    Include a meaningful photo on your fundraising page. A picture is worth a thousand words.
3.   Set your fundraising goal. Get the ball rolling by making a donation to your page – it doesn’t have to be big!
4.   Consider making weekly mini-goals: For example, if your goal is $500, try to raise $100 each week – and ask your supporters to help.
5.   Countdown to the deadline. When you point out that time is running out to give, your appeal becomes more urgent and compelling. Be sure to emphasize how close you are to your goal.
Sending out emails is a great way to communicate your story and your ask of support.
Below, we have listed an email guide with content suggestions for each email.
Email #1 – Break it wide!Â
Tell your story and share your motivation to run or walk for Mission Doctors. Express why supporting the MDA is so important to you.Â
Include link to your team or personal page Ask for a donation and/or participation.Â
Include a link to the On a Mission to Move Race page to inform and inspire- bit.ly/MDArunwalk
Email #2 – Gently remind!Â
Reiterate your reasons for taking on the Mission Doctors’ On a Mission to Move Walk/Run Event.Â
Update all those on your fundraising and/or training progress.Â
Acknowledge those (generally or individually – your personal preference!) who have made a contribution and thank them.Â
Make a direct ask to others who have not yet contributed to your efforts.Â
Always say thank you!Â
Email #3 – Final Push prior to the race!Â
Send an email in the final week before race day.Â
Share your excitement to take part Mission Doctors’ On a Mission to Move Walk/Run Event. Â
Explain how the funds you have raised will truly help our brothers and sisters around the world. Â
Convey your pride in getting close to your goal (or if you have achieved your goal!), and give your would-be supporters another chance to make a donation.Â
Make it fun, personal, and inspirational.Â
Email #4 – Post Race Recap Â
Share the emotion of race day. Include some photos!
Report your fundraising progress. Ask those who have not yet made a donation to do so at the link provided. This is it! Do not miss anyone! If you ran the race, share your race time. If you walked, share the experience you had!Â
SOCIAL MEDIA
Posting on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn can help you to reach beyond your email contacts and to share your commitment to the Mission Doctors with a broad group of friends. Please use the hashtag #missiondoctorsmission2move, we’d love to share your posts on our page too!

Update your status regularly about why you are participating in the MDA On a Mission to Move using the hashtag #missiondoctorsmission2move. Ask your friends and followers to share your status update or a link to your fundraising page. This is a great way to recruit others to join in and support life-saving Catholic healthcare.

Many companies offer a matching gifts program as a benefit to their employees, and it is an easy way to further your support of Mission Doctors Association.

Search tips:
- In the drop-down of search results, click on your company’s name to find information about your company’s specific guidelines for matching gift eligibility.
- Search by acronym or variations on your company’s name; for instance, ‘General Electric’ may populate if you search ‘GE.’
- If your company is a subsidiary of a larger company, search for the parent company.
If you don’t see your company listed, contact your Human Resources (HR) or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) department for details. If they don’t offer a matching gifts program, ask them to consider creating one.
